About the Role
Matic Transport Australia is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Warehouse Operator to support freight handling and warehouse operations. This hands-on role involves receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Goods Handling & Storage
Receive and inspect incoming freight for accuracy and damage.
Unload trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
Store goods in designated warehouse locations.
Maintain accurate stock organisation and placement.
Picking & Dispatch
Pick and pack orders for delivery and transport.
Prepare freight for dispatch with correct labelling and documentation.
Load goods onto trucks safely and securely.
Ensure accuracy in order fulfilment.
Forklift & Equipment Operation
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (LF licence required in most roles).
Move pallets, bulk freight, and heavy goods safely.
Assist with loading and unloading trailers and containers.
Follow all equipment safety procedures.
Inventory & Stock Control
Assist with stocktakes and inventory checks.
Update warehouse systems with stock movements.
Report discrepancies, damages, or missing items.
Maintain accurate warehouse records.
Safety & Housekeeping
Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment.
Handle freight safely, including heavy or sensitive goods.
Comply with company safety policies at all times.
About You
Experience in warehousing, logistics, or freight handling.
Forklift licence (LF) preferred or required.
Ability to perform manual handling and physical tasks.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
Experience in transport, logistics, or mining supply chains.
LO forklift or reach truck experience.
Basic computer or warehouse system knowledge.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
