My Kind of Food Café is located within Joondalup Health Campus and is committed to providing fresh, nutritious and high-quality meals, beverages and catering services to hospital staff, visitors and the wider community. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook (ANZSCO 351411) to join our professional kitchen team on a full-time permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, season and cook a wide range of café meals, breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, hot foods and daily specials.
- Assist in planning daily food preparation to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate ingredients and assist with ordering supplies.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with Food Safety Standards and HACCP requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations and food storage areas.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal menu improvements.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Support senior kitchen staff and assist in training junior employees where required.
Skills and Experience Required
- AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum two (2) years' relevant commercial cooking experience.
- Experience working in cafés, restaurants, hospitals or high-volume food service environments will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of food preparation, food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
- Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, motivated and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
