About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and technically capable Engineering Project Officer to support the delivery of structural engineering assessments, compliance documentation such as organising CDC, and project coordination across multiple residential and commercial projects.
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, can manage competing priorities, and communicates confidently with clients, contractors, councils, and internal engineering staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and compliance requirements are met.
- Assist engineers with structural assessments, site inspections, defect investigations, and preparation of technical reports.
- Prepare, review, and manage project documentation including drawings, certificates, scope of works, and compliance reports.
- Liaise with clients, builders, contractors, and local government authorities regarding project progress, technical requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain accurate project records, job files, and communication logs in accordance with company procedures.
- Support procurement, contractor coordination, and scheduling of site works.
- Assist with quality assurance processes, risk assessments, and adherence to engineering standards and building codes.
- Provide administrative and technical support to senior engineers and project managers as required.
- Monitor project budgets, variations, and timelines to ensure efficient delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal systems, templates, and workflows.
- Answer client calls and technical questions for all projects
- Prepare Quotes and Scopes of Work
- Update Job lists and project bookings
Skills & Experience
- Experience in engineering, construction, or project coordination (structural/civil preferred).
- Strong understanding of building processes, site operations, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical reports, and building documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional correspondence and liaise with stakeholders confidently.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools, and document control systems (e.g., Dropbox, BricsCAD, Xero familiarity advantageous).
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Surveying, or related field (preferred but not essential).
- Industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
