Greenwood Academy is a specialist Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering animal care and veterinary nursing qualifications. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing Trainer & Assessor to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing Trainer & Assessor, you will deliver engaging theoretical and practical training to students undertaking Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418).
You will be responsible for creating a supportive and industry-focused learning environment while ensuring training and assessment are delivered in accordance with the relevant training package and RTO requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging classroom and practical veterinary nursing training
- Demonstrating veterinary nursing procedures and clinical skills
- Assessing students against competency requirements and providing constructive feedback
- Supporting students to develop practical skills and workplace readiness
- Maintaining accurate training and assessment records
- Providing appropriate student support and guidance
- Participating in assessment validation and continuous improvement activities
- Maintaining current industry knowledge and professional practice
- Working collaboratively with other trainers and student support staff
- Supporting students undertaking their mandatory 240-hour veterinary nursing work placement
- Ensuring training and assessment activities meet Greenwood Academy's quality and compliance requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong veterinary nursing experience with a genuine passion for teaching.
You will ideally have:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (ACM40418) or equivalent
- Current or recent experience working in a veterinary clinical environment
- Strong practical veterinary nursing skills across areas such as anaesthesia, surgical nursing, hospital nursing, pathology, emergency and critical care, and animal handling
- Experience training, mentoring or supervising veterinary nurses, students or junior staff
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A student-focused approach to teaching and assessment
- Excellent organisational and documentation skills
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a training team
Training & Assessment Requirements
Applicants must hold, or be willing to obtain, the appropriate TAE qualification or equivalent trainer and assessor credentials required to deliver and assess nationally recognised training.
Experience working within an Australian RTO environment and familiarity with the Standards for RTOs and competency-based assessment will be highly regarded.
