About the role
The CAMHS Speech Pathologist provides expert assessment, education, and short-term intervention for children and adolescents with complex communication and mental health needs. The role involves collaborating with families, clinicians, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies to support holistic care and improved wellbeing outcomes.
Key duties of the role
Contribute to the high-quality mental health outcomes of children and adolescents and their families
Ensure children, adolescents and families achieve optimum levels of social and emotional functioning
Provision of professional and clinical supervision to Speech Pathology students and other members of the multidisciplinary team as required
Contributing to the efficient and effective functioning of the service.
Skills and Experience
An appropriate Bachelor or Masters of Speech Pathology or equivalent degree, which gives eligibility for full membership of the Speech Pathology Association of Australia
Demonstrated experience providing speech pathology services to children and adolescents with complex communication and mental health needs
Experience conducting communication assessments and developing appropriate clinical recommendations
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
