About the role:
Hobart Private Hospital is seeking experienced Administration Officer with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality patient care to join our Emergency Department team.

Our Emergency Department provides 24/7 urgent medical care for patients in Greater Hobart. Our experienced team works with leading specialists, physicians & surgeons on call. We have access to Orthopaedic, General surgery, Cardiology, Urology and other surgical specialties. The unit has on site Pathology, Radiology and Pharmacy providers.
Key Responsibilities:

Working as part of a team in a 24-hour Emergency Department, according to Policies and Procedures, that works co-operatively, sharing roles and responsibilities to meet the needs of patients.

Undertaking DEM Reception duties

Ensure that all DEM administration functions are performed efficiently and effectively ensuring excellent customer service

Understands the tasks and activities of other front office DEM functions and undertakes as necessary

Other duties as requested by Unit Manager

Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with legislation and organisational policies

Practices at all times in a manner that is consistent with organisational policies and procedures, including but not limited to OH&S, Workers’ Compensation & Infection Control.
Essential Criteria:
-
Current Working with Vulnerable People registration
-
Minimum of one-year experience in an administrative position
-
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
-
Experience in the use of the MS Office suite of programs, excel spreadsheets and email
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision
-
Commitment to excellent customer service and continuous improvement
Desirable Criteria:
-
Working knowledge of health funds as they pertain to the private sector
-
Previous experience in a similar role in a private hospital
-
Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality issues
-
Experience in hospital patient management systems
-
Working knowledge of medical terminology

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant years of experience against the current Healthscope - Tasmania - Non Nursing - Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2025, a salary of $36.21 Per hour.
