ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Manufacturing Operator in the Feedlot, you will play an important role in the effective operation of the Milling team to produce quality steam flaked grains for livestock rations.
Working under general direction your responsibilities will include:
- obtaining regular flake samples to ensure quality metrics align with nutritional standards;
- operating package boiler including startup, shutdown and operational sampling requirements;
- undertaking general repairs and maintenance to milling infrastructure (greasing, hanger bearing, belt tracking and minor maintenance repairs);
- ensuring that department hygiene and general cleanliness is held to a high standard;
- undertaking ration sample collection and data entry.
ABOUT YOU
- To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience operating steam mills, boilers and complex plant equipment
- Knowledge of liquid storage, dispensing and general maintenance activities
- Confidence using plant control systems, automated systems and MES
- Strong communication skills, teamwork and attention to quality record keeping
- Boiler licence, working at heights and confined space training
- Certificate III or equivalent experience; forklift licence highly regarded
