About the role
Due to an internal transfer, BBM is currently seeking an experienced Plant Manager to join us on a permanent full time basis at our Welshpool maltings in Perth, Western Australia.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Plant Manager will lead and develop a small team of direct reports. The responsibilities will also include:
- Ensuring quality malt is produced to meet customers’ exacting requirements.
- Ensuring plant safety standards and practices are well managed and progressed.
- Controlling and optimising production volume and all plant costs against budget.
- Ensuring plant is run in accordance with BBM operational and hygiene standards.
- Delivering on the company’s strategic plan as they pertain to the plant.
- Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and workplace engagement.
About your experience
The successful candidate will have previous experience in managing a small to medium sized food processing facility and will also demonstrate:
- Sound communication skills
- Excellent skills in people management
- Skills in budgeting and cost management
- Sound knowledge in general safety and hygiene requirements as they pertain to a food processing facility.
Tertiary qualifications in Science, Applied Science, Engineering or equivalent is preferred but candidates who are non- graduates that have appropriate industry experience will be considered.
