The Commercial Systems Specialist is a pivotal, expert-level position within the Home Claims & Assessing team. You'll be the go-to authority on our commercial systems responsible for ensuring platforms, processes, governance, and reporting are always fit for purpose, strategically aligned, and evolving to meet the business's needs.
You'll serve as the primary liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors, translating complex business needs into practical technical outcomes and championing exceptional end-user experiences across the board.
What You'll Be Doing

Lead as the technical SME — be the first port of call for complex system queries, issues, and strategic decisions

Drive continuous improvement — proactively identify gaps, challenge outdated processes, and lead implementation of solutions that deliver measurable outcomes

Build strategic relationships — partner with consultants, assessors, suppliers, and delivery teams to ensure alignment and effective collaboration

Champion the end-user experience — design and deliver expert training, define best practices, and act on user feedback to continuously improve system usability

Own documentation — develop and maintain authoritative procedure guides and user manuals that set the standard for best practice

Manage risk proactively — identify vulnerabilities early, flag concerns promptly, and embed a risk-aware culture across all system interactions

Govern user access — manage provisioning, permissions, and deprovisioning with rigour to maintain system integrity, compliance, and security

Lead change management — develop and execute change communications and adoption activities for system enhancements

Build capability — facilitate internal and external learning sessions that genuinely build confidence and competence in system users
The Skills That Matter

2+ years in general insurance with working to in-depth knowledge of insurance practices, standards, regulation, and compliance

Proven ability to work autonomously at an expert level — managing complex priorities and navigating ambiguity without needing close direction

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills — you can assess complex situations systematically, weigh your options, and land on well-reasoned, strategic solutions

A track record of managing multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail

Solid understanding of risk culture and the ability to apply risk frameworks practically and proactively

A natural collaborator who genuinely enjoys supporting and mentoring colleagues
