About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Parts Interpreter for a client to join their team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based in East and North East of Brisbane QLD , offering an exciting opportunity to work in the automotive trades industry. As a Parts Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in identifying, sourcing, and interpreting vehicle parts information for customers and internal teams. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring accurate parts matching, supporting technical inquiries, and maintaining the efficiency of our operations. This position is integral to our customer service excellence and operational success.
What you’ll be doing
- Interpreting and decoding vehicle identification numbers (VINs) to identify correct parts specifications
- Searching parts catalogues and databases to locate appropriate components for various vehicle makes and models
- Providing accurate parts information to customers, mechanics, and internal team members
- Cross-referencing parts across different manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compatibility
- Assisting in resolving parts-related inquiries and discrepancies
- Maintaining detailed records of parts requests and interpretations
- Collaborating with sales, warehouse, and technical teams to ensure efficient parts procurement and delivery
- Staying current with automotive industry changes, new model releases, and parts nomenclature updates
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience working as a Parts Interpreter, Parts Coordinator, or similar role within the automotive industry
- Strong knowledge of vehicle identification systems and parts cataloguing methodologies
- Proficiency in using automotive parts management systems and databases
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in identifying and cross-referencing components
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple inquiries simultaneously
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot parts-related challenges
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to engage with the automotive sector professionally
- Preferred: Knowledge of multiple vehicle manufacturers and familiarity with common parts categories across different vehicle types
