With over 6,000 members across 106 Sub‑Branches, we are a unique intergenerational organisation supporting current and ex‑serving members of the Australian Defence Force and allied nations.

The Position
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Marketing & Events Manager to lead RSL WA's marketing, communications and events functions.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for driving brand awareness, stakeholder engagement and organisational impact through effective marketing campaigns, compelling communications and high-quality events. You will lead a small team and play a key role in promoting RSL WA's services, programs and initiatives while strengthening engagement with veterans, serving Defence personnel, their families, members and supporters.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery, ensuring marketing, communications and events activities align with RSL WA's mission and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies.
- Oversee marketing campaigns, digital content, publications, social media and website communications.
- Ensure consistent and effective representation of the RSL WA brand.
- Develop and manage RSL WA's annual events calendar.
- Lead the planning and delivery of commemorative, fundraising, member and community events.
- Support initiatives that promote membership growth, retention and engagement.
- Build strong relationships with members, veterans, volunteers and key stakeholders.
- Lead, coach and develop the Marketing and Events team.
- Manage budgets, suppliers and external service providers.
- Monitor and report on campaign, engagement and event outcomes
About You
You are an experienced marketing and communications professional who enjoys turning ideas into action and leading initiatives that create meaningful community impact.
You will also demonstrate:

Experience in a marketing, communications, events or engagement leadership role.
- Experience developing and delivering strategic marketing and communications initiatives.
- Proven success planning and delivering events, campaigns and engagement activities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong project management and organisational capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and sound budget management skills.
- A creative, innovative and solutions-focused approach.
