POP BLOCKS PTY LTD (Trading as Blok Modular) are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. This role is integral in ensuring the precision and accuracy of our construction documents, from concept to completion, while fostering seamless communication between all project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Work Experience
- AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma and/ or at least three years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with architects, clients, developers, and subcontractors.
- A keen eye for detail, accuracy, and practicality in design.
- Proven ability to manage and organise digital file systems.
Responsibilities & Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Utilise AutoCAD to prepare and update construction documents, ensuring precise information is reflected despite variations in site conditions or client preferences. Ensure all drawings are accurate and comprehensive, contributing to smooth project delivery.
- Work closely with architects, clients, and developers, providing sketch and detail drawings during the preliminary and schematic design stages. Facilitate a clear understanding of design concepts among all parties involved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, retailers, and tradespeople to streamline the drafting of shop drawings. Assist in material specification, selection, and procurement to optimise project outcomes.
- Review and markup architectural, structural, and other construction drawings, ensuring that designs are practical, cost-effective, and feasible for implementation.
- Collaborate with architects and subcontractors to produce accurate drawings based on measurements and specifications. Ensure that all plans adhere strictly to building codes and regulations.
- Conduct site visits during construction phases to verify compliance with drafted plans. Provide clear explanations to construction teams and make adjustments to drawings as necessary.
- Interpret and manage all construction documents while maintaining a well-organised digital file system, ensuring easy access for all team members and efficient project management.
- Stay updated on required software and technical skills to ensure the practical application of new knowledge. Assist in training internal staff as needed to promote team growth and proficiency.
