Role: Complex Care Lead
Reports to: Senior Manager Mental Health and Counselling Services
Location: Cooinda, Learmonth Road, Wendouree
Employment type: Ongoing, full time
Salary: $55.72 - $58.18 per hour
About the role:
The Complex Care Lead is a senior clinical leadership role within the Mental Health and Counselling Services (MHCS) team at Ballarat Community Health. Reporting to the Senior Manager MHCS, the position is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and operational support to clinicians working with clients experiencing complex mental health and psychosocial needs. The role supports high-quality, client-centred service delivery across the MHCS program area and contributes to the ongoing development of responsive mental health, counselling, and family violence services within the community.
Key responsibilities:

Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and support to staff across specialty areas within the MHCS team.

Support service coordination activities including referrals, intake, demand management, and client allocations.

Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of mental health, counselling, and family violence services.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external agencies to support integrated care and positive client outcomes.
What you will bring to the team:

Demonstrated experience working with people experiencing complex and enduring mental health presentations within community or clinical mental health settings.

Strong clinical leadership skills, including experience providing supervision, mentoring, and support to staff.

A sound understanding of the mental health service system, including referral pathways and collaborative care approaches across the sector.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and partner agencies.

Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality, client-centred practice
