Job Description:
As a Chef at Remy's, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while supporting daily kitchen operations. You will contribute to menu planning, maintain food safety standards, and ensure consistency in all aspects of food preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan menus considering customer preferences, seasonal availability, and business objectives.
- Estimate food and labour costs to assist in budgeting and cost control.
- Order and manage kitchen supplies to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Monitor food quality at all stages of preparation and service.
- Liaise with management and staff regarding kitchen operations and dietary requirements.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff where required.
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in line with regulations.
- Store, freeze, and preserve food items appropriately to minimise waste.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years full-time experience as a Chef in commercial kitchen.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and workplace health regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management experience, with a focus on building a positive and high-performing team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
