Summary of Role
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Research & Development Manager and is expected to operate with a high degree of independence and to exercise autonomous judgement in the performance of their duties.
The main responsibilities of this position include providing experimental support and laboratory practice in the testing, research, development, and characterisation of SDI products. Due to the hands-on nature of the job, it is expected that the majority of work will be on-site at SDI Headquarters in Bayswater.
Specific Responsibilites
Reporting to the R&D Manager, your key responsibilities will be:
Carries out basic experimentation and routine testing of in-development and final products
Assists with interpretation of results and actively participate in team discussions in relation to specific projects
Maintains accurate records of work and provides clear interpretation of own results both written and orally; completes reports to established templates and methods
Maintains an awareness of current testing methodologies
Assists with the identification, analysis and management of risks associated with areas of responsibility and expertise.

Essential Experience
Basic laboratory experience/science (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy).
Computer skills including MS Office.
Knowledge and skills
Strong organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise project tasks for optimum productivity
Demonstrated resourcefulness in solving technical problems
The ability to facilitate effective teamwork through recognising and encouraging a range of complementary individual contributions
Technical report-writing and presentation skills
Strong understanding of SDI products, manufacturing processes and systems
