STACK is seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused security and compliance professional to provide hands-on policy and process support to the Critical Operations team and customers across STACK campuses.
The Security and Compliance Manager is responsible for day-to-day data centre security operations across STACK campuses, supporting and executing security projects and programs, assuring audit compliance with STACK and client policies and procedures, and responding to security incidents and operational escalations when required.
This role directly supports STACK’s commitment to 100% uptime and a concierge-level customer service experience, ensuring risk is proactively managed, planned works are executed safely, and customer communications are clear, timely and professional.

- Direct and manage contract guard force operations across STACK campuses.
- Handle security incidents, escalations and other security-related issues across STACK campuses.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call roster and provide management escalation support.
- Respond to security incidents and emergency events across STACK campuses, including attending a campus outside standard business hours when required; ensure appropriate action is taken, reports are completed and relevant parties are notified in a timely manner.
- Work closely with client security teams to deliver successful customer outcomes.
- Troubleshoot physical security system performance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Analyse physical security system performance and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with other teams to protect STACK personnel, information and assets.
- Support the Senior Security and Compliance Manager in managing soft services.
- Participate in recurring data centre security and compliance audits and reviews, including ISO 27001, SOC 1 and SOC 2, and PCI DSS.
- Execute established compliance processes in accordance with STACK policies, standards and guidelines, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Develop security methodologies, policies and procedures.
- Conduct on-the-job training.
- Prepare reports and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations and compliance.
- Oversee new security construction and retrofit projects and manage the security handover process.
- Ensure compliance with all work health and safety procedures and requirements, including permit to work, risk assessments, safe work method statements and personal protective equipment.
- Conduct site safety and hazard identification inspections.
- Report all safety concerns, hazards, near misses and incidents within required timeframes.
- Comprehend, analyse and interpret complex documents.
- Deliver effective presentations on data centre security and compliance to customers and management.
- Respond effectively to sensitive issues, complex enquiries or complaints from security service providers, co-workers, supervisors and management.
- Positively influence and motivate employees and Security Services Provider teams to achieve the required performance, placing team outcomes ahead of individual goals when necessary.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with Security Services Providers, FM subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
- Assist the Senior Security and Compliance Manager in managing Security Services Providers engaged by STACK, including security guarding, off-site Security Alarm Monitoring Centre and locksmith providers, and oversee contract and service delivery against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
- Review or prepare reports and information as required.
- Assist with Security Services Provider meetings.
- Regularly evaluate objectives and plans to support continual improvement and alignment of the Security Services Provider with STACK priorities.
- Hold Security Services Provider team members accountable to performance standards and work with the provider to understand and address underperformance appropriately.
- Operate in accordance with STACK values and contribute to a cohesive and positive working environment.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with stakeholders across STACK, FM Services Provider teams, joint venture partners, consortium members, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Develop team members to maximise performance and realise their potential through coaching and mentoring.
- Promote teamwork across the team, Security Services Provider and wider business.
- Take accountability for achieving results aligned with STACK business goals.
- Maintain open communication channels by keeping people informed of changes and decisions that affect them and ensuring relevant information is communicated promptly and accurately.

Working on-site across STACK campuses in Melbourne.
Travel between STACK campuses and the STACK Melbourne head office may be required from time to time.
Travel to other STACK data centre facilities within Australia and internationally may be required from time to time.
- 5-7 years’ security operations experience.
- At least three years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Ability to analyse situations, make timely decisions and formulate action plans.
- Demonstrated experience investigating security incidents and preparing detailed reports.
- Demonstrated experience participating in an after-hours on-call roster and responding to security incidents and operational escalations, including outside standard business hours.
- Experience working with security service providers.
- Working knowledge of security software systems such as Gallagher, AMAG and Lenel.
- Working knowledge of video surveillance equipment.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Capability to create and manage key performance metrics.
- Experience training others in security procedures.
- Ability to work independently with limited direction.
- Experience working in a high-security environment.
- Conflict resolution training.
- Ability to perform security risk assessments.
- CPR/AED certification.
- CPP or PSP certification.
- Understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Certificate IV in Security Risk Management or equivalent.
- Defence Security Officer training, or the ability to complete it.
- Security Adviser Registration, or the ability to obtain it.
- Security Officer licence, or the ability to obtain it.
- Must be able to attain and hold NV1 security clearance.
