Lead, optimise and make an impact in a high-performing industrial facility.
At SGS, we are looking for a capable leader to drive performance at our Toowoomba facility.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take ownership of site operations across our machining and inspection services. You’ll be responsible for driving productivity, leading a skilled team, and delivering strong commercial outcomes.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across the facility

Drive production output and achieve revenue targets

Manage P&L for machining and inspection activities

Lead, coach and develop a skilled team

Ensure compliance with quality and industry standards

Optimise equipment utilisation and operational efficiency

Manage inventory, materials and workflow (WIP)

Strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers
-
Champion safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives

Deliver training and uplift capability within the team
Qualifications
About You
You’re a proactive and capable leader with strong operational and technical experience, ideally within machining or industrial manufacturing.
You bring:

Experience in a supervisory or management role

Trade background in machining or similar technical field

Exposure to oil & gas or drilling environments

Strong understanding of CNC machining and engineering drawings
-
Knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes

Familiarity with lean principles (e.g. 5S, continuous improvement)
