About the Role
We are seeking reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team in Mackay, supporting NDIS participants in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment and with community access.
The role involves providing quality one-to-two shared SIL support, as well as individual one-to-one community access support where rostered.
There is an existing support worker team, with additional recruitment potentially required to cover roster gaps and ensure consistent participant support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to NDIS participants in a SIL environment.
- Provide shared one-to-two support and individual one-to-one community access support as rostered.
- Assist participants with personal care and daily living activities.
- Support participants to access the community and participate in activities.
- Follow individual support plans and participant preferences.
- Provide medication support where appropriately trained and required.
- Respond appropriately to epilepsy and seizures where training is required.
- Maintain accurate shift notes and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, support teams and management.
- Follow roster requirements and CCS policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional boundaries and provide respectful, safe and consistent support.
About You
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience working in disability support, preferably in SIL.
- Experience providing shared support and/or one-to-one support.
- Confidence assisting with personal care.
- Epilepsy and seizure-response training, where required.
- Medication-support competency, where required.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong commitment to participant safety and wellbeing.
- Good availability for weekends, evenings and sleepover shifts, depending on roster requirements.
- A willingness to follow participant support plans and organisational procedures.

Roster arrangements are subject to participant needs and operational requirements. Any changes to an agreed roster must be approved by CCS.
Applicants must meet all required NDIS worker screening and compliance requirements applicable to the role.
Pay: $34.10 – $37.95 per hour
