What You Will Do
Lead with impact
- Provide strategic leadership for technical capability frameworks, governance systems, and assurance processes across the RCoE and GRE career segments.
- Shape and mature enterprise governance platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Documentum, AMS Archer) and assurance PMO processes.
Drive governance, disclosure, and sustainability outcomes
- Oversee RCoE contributions to BHP’s Annual Reporting suite, including Sustainability sections and ESG Standards & Databook.
- Lead sustainability reporting coordination, insurance and information verification processes, and reporting timelines in collaboration with Investor Relations, Group Governance, Communications, and other key functions.
- Build trusted relationships with external disclosure bodies to inform strategy and future capability needs.
Enable strategy and continuous improvement
- Support RCoE Planning & Technical Risk Committee initiatives and enterprise governance priorities.
- Champion evidence‑based decision‑making, benchmarking, and prioritisation to maximise value across the portfolio.
- Monitor and manage project performance to ensure safe, on‑time, and on‑budget delivery.
Build future‑ready capability
- Lead capability frameworks, KPIs, learning content, and strategic workforce planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with external organisations, government bodies, and educational institutions to strengthen capability pipelines.
- Embed change management tools, new methodologies, and digital solutions into capability programs.
Develop high‑performing teams
- Coach, mentor, and develop technical leaders and emerging talent.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Equip teams to influence through compelling storytelling, presentations, and stakeholder engagement.
Champion operational excellence
- Embed a customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to 100% safety, 100% customer value, and zero waste.
- 10+ years’ experience in Geoscience and/or Resource Engineering across the full resource value chain—from exploration to closure.
- Proven experience designing and implementing capability strategies and strategic workforce plans.
- Strong background in governance systems, assurance frameworks, and disclosure.
- Demonstrated success in change leadership, transformation programs, and enterprise initiatives.
- Experience engaging with external organisations, government bodies, and academic institutions.
- Technical thought leadership with the ability to influence research and capability direction.
- A strong coaching and mentoring track record, developing high‑performing technical professionals.
- The agility to learn quickly, adapt, and operate across complex, interconnected systems.
