Who are we?
healthAbility, as the name suggests, plays a unique and valuable role in the health system. We work to address the root causes of vulnerability, prevent disease and promote lifelong health outcomes, empowering people in our community to live their best life.
Our role is also supporting people to self-manage long-term health conditions, such as diabetes and mental health challenges, with multidisciplinary teams delivering community-based programs in a comfortable setting. We also support people, including older people and people with disability, to stay living at home longer and to live well in their community.
Our broad range of primary health services, care management and in home and community support services can be tailored to an individual’s needs and with major hubs in Box Hill and Eltham, these services can be delivered locally, in the Eastern and North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Why work with us?
At healthAbility, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to develop healthy habits that support a lifetime of oral health.
We're seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist to join our growing Little Chompers Outreach Program. This unique role combines clinical practice, oral health promotion and community engagement, delivering preventative dental services directly to kindergartens, childcare centres and schools across our community.
Unlike a traditional clinic-based role, Little Chompers takes oral health into the community. Through interactive education, oral health screenings and preventative interventions, we help children develop positive oral health habits while connecting families with ongoing dental care when required.
With the program expanding into primary schools, this is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, building relationships and contributing ideas to support program growth and innovation
