An opportunity has become available for a Workforce Coordinator to join our Intermodal team in North Sydney.
What You’ll Do
Are you finishing school or early in your career and looking for a pathway into the rail or logistics industry? We’re looking for an enthusiastic Workforce Coordinator to join our Intermodal team.
In this fast-paced role, you’ll learn how to help coordinate the daily allocation of crew and equipment/assets (500+ train crew, 1,400 wagons, 130 locomotives) to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations across Australia’s rail network. You’ll be part of a fast-paced environment that keeps freight moving safely and efficiently — and we’ll train you in everything you need to know.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will:
Coordinate and allocate more than 500 train crew, 1,400 wagons and 130 locomotives in line with daily operational plans.

Maintain and update crew rosters, responding quickly when operational requirements change.

Work closely with internal teams to ensure the right people and assets are in the right place at the right time.

Monitor operations, identify potential disruptions and support practical solutions to keep freight moving.

Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve operational efficiency.

Help ensure compliance with safety, operational and industrial requirements.

Work a rotating lifestyle roster comprising 12-hour day and night shifts, following a typical rotation of 4 on/5 off, 5 on/4 off and 5 on/5 off.
What You’ll Bring
You don’t need previous rail industry experience. we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, capability and interest in building a career in rail and logistics.
You will bring:

Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.

Clear verbal, written and digital communication skills.

The ability and willingness to learn complex operational systems and rostering tools.

The ability to remain organised and make sound decisions in a busy, time-critical environment.

A collaborative and team-oriented approach.

An interest in transport, logistics, rail operations, workforce planning or monitoring-based work.

Previous exposure to labour planning, rostering systems or heavy industry is advantageous but not essential.
