Maritime and Safety Training (MAST) is a leading provider of maritime and safety-related training services across New South Wales. MAST is owned and operated by the NSW Fishing Industry Training Committee (FITC NSW), a not-for-profit industry organisation committed to supporting workforce development, safety, and training outcomes within the maritime and fishing sectors.MAST delivers a range of accredited and non-accredited training programs, including recreational boating licence courses, maritime industry training, safety courses, and other vocational education and training services. We work with students, government agencies, industry stakeholders, and community members to provide high-quality training and support.
About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist / Student Support Officer to join our team on a casual basis.The role is ideally suited to someone seeking approximately three days per week, although some flexibility may be available for the right applicant.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, can work independently, and takes pride in providing excellent customer service. As the first point of contact for students and stakeholders, you will play an important role in ensuring enquiries are handled professionally and efficiently.As our organisation is currently operating with a small team, the successful applicant will be a self-starter who is comfortable managing their workload, identifying priorities, and taking initiative when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to email enquiries.
- Provide support and assistance to current and prospective students.
- Respond to enquiries from industry stakeholders and members of the public.
- Refer enquiries to specialist team members when matters require further expertise or information.
- Maintain accurate records within our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Monitor and respond to incoming enquiries through various communication channels.
- Assist with student administration and general office coordination.
- Maintain filing and record-keeping systems.
- Undertake basic office housekeeping and simple cleaning duties to ensure a professional working environment.
- Support the broader team with administrative and operational tasks as required.
About You
