Looking for work that has purpose, connection and the occasional adventure?
Mojo LifeAssist is looking for a positive, reliable and down-to-earth Support Companion to join our team and support a friendly young man in his early 20s living in Yeronga.
This isn't your average support role.
It's an opportunity to build a genuine connection with one person, share in the little wins, and play a meaningful part in someone building the adult life he wants for himself.
We're looking for someone who can become a positive role model, part mentor, part coach and part mate, someone who enjoys walking alongside a young adult as he continues building confidence, independence and the adult life he wants for himself.
About the Role
We're supporting a friendly, outgoing young man who works full-time in a warehouse and is highly motivated to keep learning, growing and building his independence.
He enjoys music, gaming, cars, wrestling, going to the gym, spending time with his dog, getting out into the community and trying new experiences.
He's already achieved a great deal, and we're looking for someone who can help him keep building on that.
You'll become a trusted part of his journey. Someone who encourages, mentors, shares experiences, celebrates progress and helps him keep moving forward.
The activities matter, but the relationship is what makes the difference.
Every visit will look a little different, but it might include:
- Building everyday life skills together
- Getting out into the community
- Exploring interests and new experiences
- Working towards personal goals
- Being a consistent, positive presence in his life
We're looking for someone who brings ideas, enthusiasm and initiative, while also being patient, encouraging and willing to meet someone where they're at.
The MOJO Way
M.O.J.O. = Meaning Opportunity Joy Onwards
Meaning – helping people discover what brings purpose, connection and fulfilment to their lives
Opportunity – creating opportunities to learn, grow, participate and try new things
Joy – noticing and nurturing the moments that make life enjoyable
Onwards – supporting people to keep moving forward towards the life they want, one step at a time
Who We're Looking For
You might be a great fit if you are:
- Reliable and consistent
- Patient and encouraging
- Comfortable supporting someone with communication differences and willing to take the time to understand them
- Active and enjoy getting out and about
- A natural mentor and positive role model
- Able to teach everyday life skills
- Good at building rapport and genuine connections
- Calm, practical and adaptable
- Enjoy seeing people learn, grow and achieve their goals
- Someone who brings ideas and enjoys creating meaningful experiences with others
Experience in disability support is welcomed but not essential. The right attitude, reliability and ability to connect with people are what matter most.
Essential Requirements
The ideal applicant will already have, or be willing to obtain, the following (we can support you with this process):
- An ABN and appropriate insurance
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check
- A reliable vehicle for community-based support
- Confidence using a smartphone for communication and shift notes
The Role
- Predominantly weekend-based shifts
- Generally one shift per week or fortnight
- Flexible hours depending on activities and goals
- Contractor opportunity
Whether you already work in disability support, youth work, education, allied health, fitness, community services, or you're simply someone who enjoys mentoring, encouraging others and building genuine connections, we'd love to hear from you.
If you're someone who enjoys building genuine connections, bringing ideas to life and seeing people grow, this could be exactly the kind of work you're looking for.
And if you're reading this wondering whether you might be a good fit, we'd encourage you to get in touch. We'd much rather have a conversation than have someone rule themselves out too quickly.

Let's have a conversation and see whether we're the right fit for each other.
