Favourhill Care is seeking two reliable, compassionate and experienced Female Disability Support Workers to join our team in Dakabin, QLD.
This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, consistent support to a young female NDIS participant and help her build confidence, independence and positive daily routines.
About the Role
The participant is a 9-year-old girl with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 2, ADHD and a PDA profile.
She is bright, creative and expressive and enjoys:
- Music and singing
- Baking and cooking activities
- Painting and creative play
- Imaginative and sensory play
- Age-appropriate sensory activities
She responds best to workers who are calm, patient, flexible and creative, and who understand that anxiety can increase when she feels pressured or given direct demands.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build a trusting and positive relationship with the participant
- Support emotional regulation and confidence
- Provide engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Support community participation and social development
- Use a calm, low-demand and relationship-based approach
- Recognise early signs of anxiety or sensory overload
- Follow participant support plans and Favourhill Care procedures
- Communicate professionally with the family and care team
- Maintain a safe, respectful and supportive environment
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for two Female Support Workers who are:
✔ Experienced working with children with autism and/or ADHD
✔ Patient, warm and emotionally regulated
✔ Confident supporting behaviours of concern
✔ Understanding of PDA or willing to learn
✔ Creative and comfortable with play-based activities
✔ Reliable and committed to consistent support
✔ Good communicators with strong professional boundaries
✔ Comfortable working in a family home and community settings
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Blue Card / Working with Children Check
- First Aid & CPR
- Relevant disability/community services experience or qualification
- Australian working rights
- Reliable transport is highly desirable
