Help young people break down barriers to participation with Youth Projects!
This is not your average employment consultant role. Based at our St Albans site, Youth Coaches work alongside young people to identify and address the personal, social and practical barriers that can make it harder to engage in employment or education. By recognising each young person’s strengths, goals and individual circumstances, you will help open doors to meaningful opportunities and support young people to build a future on their own terms.
As a Youth Coach, you won’t just help young people aged 15–25 find work. You’ll empower them to develop real-world skills, confidence and independence. Using a strengths-based case management approach and working alongside our Recruitment Partner and Community Engagement team, you’ll be a mentor, advocate and connector between young people and local employment, education and participation opportunities through the Transition to Work program.
What you’ll bring:
- A Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work, Community Services, Career Development or a related discipline
- Experience delivering employment services and/or mentoring young people
- A current and valid driver’s licence
- Strong digital literacy, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications
Does this sound like you?
- You can connect and build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
- You understand strengths-based practice and know how to build upon each young person’s potential
- You are patient and persistent, maintaining engagement through setbacks and changing circumstances
- You balance empathy with professional boundaries and are comfortable having honest conversations
Then we want to hear from you!
