Our client, JA Baking Pty Ltd, is seeking dedicated and experienced Bakers and Pastrycooks to join the team at Austin's Organic - a high-performing artisan bakery in Newstead, QLD 4006, committed to certified organic ingredients, sustainable traceability and premium craftsmanship.
This is a full-time opportunity offering a competitive salary ranging from AUD 70K to 80K per annum plus superannuation, with the final package negotiable based on experience and skill level.
You will be required to do the following duties:
- Prepare, mix, weigh and bake breads, pastries, artisan loaves, and specialty baked goods in line with recipes and production schedules
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar, etc. and make appropriate orders within budget for management.
- Check the quality of ingredients and maintain accurate stock levels for flour, perishables, and baking supplies
- Operate and maintain commercial baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and related machinery
- Adjust temperatures, fermentation processes, and production settings to ensure consistent product quality
- Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards across all stages of production
- Monitor dough development, proofing, and baking times to meet both quality and volume requirements
- Assist in planning daily production volumes, product ranges, and seasonal offerings
- Decorate and finish baked goods where required
- Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing, as required
- Maintain accurate records of ingredient usage, batch production, wastage, and quality checks
- Work collaboratively with the broader bakery and retail team to ensure smooth daily operations
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Keeping accurate records.
- Operating a variety of kitchen equipment.
To be considered for this role, you should:
- Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
- Be available on both days at weekends and be able to work split shifts.
- Preferably hold a certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or a relevant field
- Qualified Baker/ Pastry Cook with 2-3 years of experience
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
