Experienced Barber or Men’s Hairdresser

An exciting opportunity is available for a reliable barber or men’s hairdresser to join a professionally fitted barbershop in central Gunnedah NSW.
This position offers consistent full time hours and would suit someone looking for secure work, strong earning potential and an opportunity to establish themselves in a regional community.
The position
The successful applicant will provide barbering services while assisting with the daily operation of the shop.
Responsibilities include:
- Men’s haircuts, fades, buzz cuts and children’s cuts
- Clipper work, scissor work and basic styling
- Welcoming customers and managing walk ins
- Processing cash and card payments
- Opening and closing the shop
- Keeping the shop clean, hygienic and presentable
- Monitoring basic stock levels
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
The roster
Approximately 44 paid hours are available each week.
The usual roster consists of full day shifts from Tuesday to Saturday and a shorter four hour Sunday shift.
Overtime and weekend penalty rates will be paid where applicable under the Hair and Beauty Industry Award.

About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident completing men’s haircuts independently
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Friendly and comfortable speaking with customers
- Professional in their presentation and work
- Able to manage payments and basic daily shop operations
- Committed to maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace
A barbering or hairdressing qualification is preferred but not essential. Applicants without formal qualifications may still be considered if they can demonstrate suitable practical skills and experience.
