Female Disability Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable Female Disability Support Worker to join a supportive care team in Thomastown.
In this rewarding role, you will be providing high-quality, person-centred care to a female client living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). You will play a vital part in maintaining her independence, comfort, and quality of life in her home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist with daily routine care, hygiene, grooming, and general support (ADLs).
- Physical Support: Safely execute transfers utilizing mechanical hoists and mobility equipment.
- Medication Administration: Prompt medications safely according to care plans.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals suited to the client’s dietary needs.
- Companionship & Care: Work collaboratively within a team to ensure a safe, dignified, and comfortable environment.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Proven experience working with complex physical disabilities, specifically with hoists and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). (Experience with MND is highly regarded).
- Qualification: Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or a related field.
- NDIS Screening: Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Certifications:
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Work Rights: Valid work rights in Australia.
- Attributes: Punctual, empathetic, strong communicator, and a team player.
Shift Availability
We are currently filling morning and evening shifts. Candidates with flexible availability across weekdays and weekends are strongly encouraged to apply.
