What will you be doing?
You will lead the delivery of growth and KPI objectives set for the Coles account through:
- Managing and developing a high-performance account team to provide excellence in consultative
service to Coles;
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Coles portfolio
- Owning and growing the Coles partnership through commercially grounded, insight-led thinking that
positions Circana as a strategic partner rather than a service provider
- Partnering with the Circana leadership group and cross-functional teams to shape and execute
broader retail initiatives
Job Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Deliverables
- Maintain high levels of engagement with Coles, including being present onsite approximately three
days per week
- Act as the senior insights voice in key client forums, confidently guiding conversations, shaping
narratives, and leading insight presentations
- Proactively identify opportunities to elevate discussions with Coles, using insight to challenge existing
thinking and influence direction
- Ensure all deliverables are commercially relevant, clearly articulated, and grounded in practical
application
Account Management
- Work closely with Coles to identify business needs and objectives, influencing and negotiating
solutions that balance client priorities with Circana’s commercial agenda
- Take ownership of commercial KPIs for the account, driving delivery against revenue and growth
targets
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with internal stakeholders, ensuring visibility of program
progress, risks, and decisions to support aligned and timely outcomes
- Coach the team on how to effectively sell ideas, insights, and solutions in client environments
- Confidently manage scope, workload and resourcing discussions, including pushing back when
required to protect capacity and business priorities
Relationship Management
- Build strong and effective relationships with senior level stakeholders, becoming a visible and trusted
point of leadership within the Coles environment
- Navigate conversations with confidence, knowing when and how to lean in
- Actively seek out and initiate conversations onsite to strengthen relationships and uncover new
opportunities
- Demonstrate strong industry and retailer knowledge, using this to shape discussions and influence
outcomes
- Drive improved efficiencies and better client outcomes through clarity, prioritisation, and disciplined
delivery
Insights & Analysis
- Lead the development and delivery of high-quality insights across multiple data sets, ensuring
thinking is sharp, commercially focused, and actionable
- Ensure excellence in analytical approach, storytelling, and interpretation of insights, incorporating
multiple data sources where available
People Management & Leadership
- Set clear direction for the team, lifting the quality of thinking, storytelling, and output across all
workstreams
- Inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, coaching individuals to grow confidence,
capability, and commercial thinking
- Actively mentor team members to strengthen client presence and storytelling skills
- Provide regular, constructive feedback and use the performance review process to accelerate
development
- Align individual and team development plans with Coles’ evolving needs and expectations
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Commerce or a related discipline preferred
- 7+ years’ experience within the FMCG industry, ideally gained in an agency, supplier, or retailer
facing environment
- Strong people leadership capability, with the ability to influence, motivate, and develop others
- Exceptional client service skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain senior stakeholder
relationships
- Strong commercial acumen, including business development experience and the ability to drive
growth
- Excellent understanding of analytical concepts related to market, sales, and shopper data
- Highly effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to plan effectively and execute
with discipline
