Chef / Cook (Full-Time)
We are a growing hospitality business in Dandenong, Victoria specialising in Indian, Kerala, Arabic and multicultural cuisines. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef/Cook to join our team on a full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
Plan and develop menu items and seasonal specials.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment including Combi Ovens.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation standards.
Estimate food and labour costs and assist with budget control.
Manage stock levels, inventory and supplier orders.
Check and receive deliveries and maintain stock rotation procedures.
Assist with staff supervision and preparation of kitchen rosters.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
Prepare and manage a variety of cuisines including Indian, Arabic, Italian and Asian dishes.
Skills and Experience
Relevant Cookery Qualification (Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or equivalent).
Current Food Safety Certification.
Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment, including Combi Ovens.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation procedures.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
