Create your best future and join Westpac as a Manager, Responsible AI.
What’s the role?
You’ll be joining a newly established Responsible AI function with a clear mission to build trust in AI across Westpac and the broader community. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how AI is governed at scale, working alongside experts across the Chief AI Office, risk, legal and compliance.
In this permanent full-time role based in Sydney, you’ll help bring responsible AI frameworks to life. You’ll support the design and embedding of practical guardrails, contribute to governance uplift, and help ensure AI is used safely, transparently and accountably across the enterprise.
Day to day, you’ll be working on a mix of strategy and delivery, from exploring emerging AI risks to supporting the implementation of tools that enable responsible AI by design. You’ll help build core capabilities such as monitoring, reporting and AI inventory, while also contributing to training, uplift and innovation in risk management approaches.
This is a role for someone who’s curious, thoughtful and motivated to keep improving how we approach AI in a fast-moving environment.
What do I need?
- Experience working in AI risk, governance, compliance, legal or a related area
- Understanding of responsible AI principles and how to turn them into practical controls
- Interest in how AI works, including emerging risks and how to manage them
- Strong analytical thinking with sound judgement and problem-solving capability
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and provide actionable guidance
