Commercial Analyst to support the Commercial Manager with pricing, modelling, data analysis & reporting. Bunbury based.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Commercial Analyst is responsible for commercial modelling, data analysis, pricing development, and performance reporting that support informed commercial decision-making across the business.
Operating from our Head Office in Bunbury, Western Australia, this role plays a critical part in strengthening MGM's commercial insight and improving the quality and consistency of commercial data and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial scenario and profitability analysis (by client, site, and fleet) to support growth initiatives and identify margin improvement opportunities
- Develop pricing models, rate build-ups, and financial structures for new and prospective work
- Analyse cost drivers, margins, and risk allowances, and model cost escalations (fuel, labour, and CPI) to inform pricing and profitability
- Design and automate recurring commercial reports and monthly management and board reporting packs
- Conduct rate, cost, and margin variance analysis, flagging trends, anomalies, and areas of commercial risk
- Consolidate data from operational, fleet, and finance systems into a single, reliable commercial data source
- Support leadership with commercial insights, scenario modelling, and risk mitigation strategies
- Support due diligence for new projects and expansion initiatives, and provide ad hoc analysis for pricing, bids, and rate reviews
- Benchmark pricing, rates, and cost structures against market and historical performance data

Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Commerce, Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Data Analytics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial analysis, financial modelling, data analytics, finance, or related disciplines
- Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to construct pricing structures and margin models
- High-level proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel)
- Proficiency with data visualisation and business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI)
- Strong data management skills, including consolidating and validating data from multiple systems
- Sound understanding of commercial and financial drivers, including margin, cost, and cash flow
- Strong written communication skills, with high attention to detail and governance discipline
- Experience within heavy industry, mining services, transport, logistics, or related sectors (desirable)
