About the Role
As a ECT, you will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports each child’s development and wellbeing, as a leader with a strong vision in creating a quality early learning environment for children, families, and educators. You’ll work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality early education aligned with the EYLF and the National Quality Framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and organising learning activities across indoor and outdoor settings, using a range of resources, materials and equipment to support children’s overall development.
- Delivering varied experiences and activities designed to strengthen children’s motor skills, social interaction, cooperation, confidence and understanding.
- Supporting language development through storytelling, role play, songs, rhymes, group discussions and individual conversations.
- Observing children's behaviour, participation and progress to assess development and identify any signs of illness, emotional concerns or possible disabilities.
- Monitoring children's nutritional wellbeing, safety and welfare needs, and identifying any issues that may affect their learning progress.
- Communicating with families regarding children’s development, progress and wellbeing.
- Participating in family-teacher interviews, staff meetings and committee meetings as required.
- Contributing to community engagement initiatives and family support programs where appropriate.
- Supervising and guiding student teachers during their placement.
About You
You are someone who:
- Holds a qualified Early Childhood Teacher qualification, and a valid NESA teacher's accreditation
- Has a genuine passion for early childhood education
- Is reliable, motivated, and brings positive energy to the team
- Communicates professionally with children, families, and colleagues
- Is flexible and willing to support the operational needs of the centre, brings a strong leadership perspective to the team
Essential Requirements
- Early Childhood Teaching qualification
- Valid Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis & Asthma certificates
- Knowledge of the EYLF and NQF
- Full-time availability
