About the Opportunity
The PMO (Program Management Office) Manager leads the delivery of PMO services and governance in support of the ASC Transformation Office Programs. The role manages a high-performing team of approximately six PMO Leads and Officers and responsible for enabling consistent, accurate, and timely PMO services, governance and reporting across ASC’s strategic transformation programs.
Working closely with Program and Project Managers and key stakeholders, the PMO Manager drives effective program & project governance, risk management, delivery assurance and informed decision-making through data-driven insights and ensures alignment with organisational governance standards.
The role includes developing and maintaining the Transformation Office Program Management framework, standards, metrics, templates, and repeatable PMO processes to support efficient and consistent program delivery outcomes across all the Transformation Office programs. Reporting to the Senior PMO and Planning Manager, this position plays a key role in delivery of PMO services and, continuous improvement across ASC’s Transformation Office.
The role operates within a complex, fast-paced transformation environment involving the ASC strategic corporate and digital transformation programs with multiple projects, stakeholders, and external delivery partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and manage the PMO delivery team to provide high-quality PMO services, program governance and risk management.
- Responsible for maintaining and improving the Transformation Office Program Management Framework, standards, tools offering, governance processes, templates, and reporting capability to enhance automation, usability, efficiency, and delivery quality.
- Ensure programs and delivering accurate, timely project and program reporting, ensuring clear visibility of status and performance.
- Maintain and uplift governance frameworks aligned with organisational standards to support effective decision-making and delivery assurance.
- Establish and maintain relationships with Program and Project Managers to ensure consistent alignment with the Transformation Office Framework and PMO processes across all programs.
- Drive team performance through clear expectations, coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.
- Provide strategic, data-driven advice and insights to senior leaders to support enterprise transformation outcomes and uplift organisational PMO and data maturity.
About you
- Proven experience working in a PMO leadership role managing a PMO team.
- Experience working within large, complex programs, enterprise transformation initiatives, or digital transformation environments.
- Experience in establishing and continuous improvement of a Program or Project Management Office.
- Strong capability delivering PMO services, effective project and program reporting, governance, risk management and coordination across multiple programs.
- Experience with a range of PMO, project and reporting tools such as Jira, Power BI, MS Project and the MS Office 365 suite.
- Strong data storytelling capability, including experience developing business-friendly visualisations and dashboards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and the potential need for an Australian Defence Security Clearance in the future. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
