Join a skilled and supportive team where you’ll help maintain parks, sportsgrounds and community facilities while coordinating crews and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Coordinate and support work crews undertaking the maintenance of parks, reserves, sportsgrounds and community facilities.
- Plan, organise and monitor maintenance activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Inspect completed works, identify maintenance priorities and provide technical support and guidance to crew members.
- Operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment, including tractors, mowing equipment, brush cutters and turf maintenance machinery.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of annual maintenance programs for parks, reserves and sportsgrounds.
- Work closely with contractors, colleagues and community stakeholders to deliver safe, well-maintained and welcoming public spaces.
- A Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, or significant experience in parks, open space or horticultural maintenance.
- Experience leading or supervising work crews and coordinating day-to-day work activities.
- Experience operating plant and equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, tractors or turf maintenance machinery.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A current Tasmanian driver’s licence.
- Irrigation experience, a White Card, Traffic Management qualification, Chemical Handling Certificate or Horticultural qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People and a National Police Check Certificate (dated within six months) will be required prior to commencement.
- Base salary between $76,948.44 and $88,899.69 (depending on skills and experience) + 13% superannuation
- In July 2026, the base salary will increase by 5.1% and the superannuation will increase to 13.5%
- Permanent and full-time
- 9 day fortnight
