LOX Stock & Barrel is looking for a passionate and talented Chef to join our team.
The Restaurant
LOX Stock & Barrel is a New York-style deli diner located in Bondi on a well-known local strip, just two blocks from the beach. Free parking is available within a five-minute walk of the restaurant, and there is a bus stop on the next corner.
Our focus is all about great food, quality produce, and buzzy, friendly service. Our menu is creative, interesting, and seasonal, using the best locally sourced ingredients. We are open seven days per week from 7:00am to 2:30pm for breakfast and lunch, as well as in-house private events and off-site catering.
The Role
We are looking for a Chef who is:

- Experienced, with at least 3 years of relevant commercial cookery experience in a professional kitchen.

Requirements
- Full-time position.
- Five shifts per week with flexible days and occasional evenings.
- Availability to work across café service, catering, and private events.

Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Training, mentoring, and supervising kitchen staff.
- Monitoring and analysing food costs, wastage, and labour percentages in collaboration with the owners to achieve agreed targets.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and providores while ensuring competitive pricing.
- Ensuring LOX Stock & Barrel recipes, systems, and ordering procedures are documented and consistently followed.
- Contributing to menu development and seasonal menu changes.
- Leading and participating in regular team meetings to encourage creativity and continuous improvement.
- Maintaining high standards of workplace health and safety.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Working closely with Executive Chef Neil Gottheiner on menu development and operational requirements.
Salary
$80,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
