Reporting to the PC Operations Manager - AU, you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees , providing high-quality People & Culture support across a broad range of operational matters. This role focuses on delivering practical advice on pay and industrial enterprise agreements, terms and conditions of employment, grievances and investigations, performance management, fitness for work, injury management support, compliance, and policy interpretation.
This is a 12-month fixed-term, full-time opportunity supporting a broad portfolio of P&C advisory and program delivery responsibilities within the team.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice on pay matters, industrial instruments, and enterprise agreements, including interpretation and application in the workplace.
- Manage grievances, workplace concerns, and investigations with a fair, practical, and policy-aligned approach.
- Provide guidance and support on performance management processes and related employee matters.
- Coordinate fitness for work and injury management support in partnership with leaders and relevant stakeholders.
- Administer employee recognition initiatives, including service awards and related programs.
- Prepare and maintain reporting requirements to support business and P&C operational needs.
- Contribute to P&C compliance activities, including enterprise agreement analysis and employment legislation interpretation.
Provide advice on Downer policies and procedures to support consistent and compliant people practices.

What you’ll bring
- Experience in a P&C/HR advisory role with exposure to employee relations, industrial interpretation, and workplace compliance.
- Foundational knowledge of enterprise agreements, employment legislation, and the practical application of policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated capability in managing grievances, investigations, performance matters, and terms and conditions queries.
- Experience supporting reporting, program coordination, and operational P&C activities with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and provide clear, practical advice to leaders and employees.
Qualification in HR or a related discipline is preferred, with relevant experience in a complex or operationally focused environment.
