About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Darwin Precontracts team. For the right candidate, we are also open to appointing a Senior Estimator.
Working closely with the Estimating Manager and broader team, you'll play a key role in preparing competitive tenders across a diverse portfolio of Defence, Government and commercial building projects throughout the Northern Territory.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator looking to work on a varied project portfolio while building long-term relationships within the local construction industry.
What You'll Do
- Prepare building measurements and quantity take-offs.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier pricing enquiries.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and pricing submissions.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender pricing.
- Assist with tender submissions and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers, construction teams and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
- Support successful project handovers following tender award.
What You'll Bring
Ideally, you will bring experience in some or all of the following:
- Estimating commercial building projects.
- Defence project experience.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills.
- Experience with Expert Estimation or similar estimating software.
- Experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar programming software is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team.
