About the role
The Rostering and Administration Officer supports the Team Leader – Rostering Administration to ensure Network Control maintains the capability and sustainability required to effectively deliver rostering outcomes and manage day-to-day administrative functions. This includes supporting Train Control, Fleet Control, Customer Control, and Regional Signallers.
In addition to the core responsibilities outlined in this position description, the role may be required to undertake other duties aligned with the employee’s classification, skills, and capabilities, as needed by the business.
Key accountabilities include:

Support the development and maintenance of Hastus master rosters across Network Control functions, ensuring compliance with awards, EBAs, and business rules.

Prepare and update rosters for planned service changes, including special events and public holidays.

Ensure all rosters meet fatigue management (FAID) and rail safety requirements.

Coordinate and maintain rosters to support training, medicals, accreditation, and workforce planning activities.

Validate daily rosters and timesheets, ensuring accuracy prior to payroll processing and making adjustments as required.

Manage annual leave rosters and support onboarding of new Network Control staff.

Provide administrative support, including purchase/work order creation, document management, and uniform/stationery coordination.
Assist managers, trainers, and broader teams with administrative tasks, continuous improvement initiatives, and project support.
Location + Shift times

Located in Melbourne CBD (Bourke St) you will join a team of 3 rostering coordinator while reporting to the Team Leader - Rostering and Administration.

Shift times: Monday- Friday rotating across 0700-1500 and 0900-1700
About you
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Able to commit ongoing to both rosters including 0700 + 0900 start time

Cert III in Business Administration
-
Proven experience in a volume environment delivering rostering across multiple operational functions

Previous rostering experience, working in line with an Enterprise Agreement

This position will be paid in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administration Employees Agreement 2023 Clerk 4, $52.45 p/h. Annual Leave Accrual Type: 4 weeks - 17.5% Loading
The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural interview and a medical risk category 4 check.
