Day Shift Supervisor – Manufacturing (Automated Production Environment)

We are seeking an experienced Day Shift Supervisor to lead production operations within a high-volume manufacturing and automated batch production environment. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, is confident leading teams on the floor, and can drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement outcomes.
About the Role
As Shift Supervisor, you will oversee all shift-based production activities, ensuring safety, quality, output, and efficiency targets are consistently achieved. You will lead a team of approximately 20–30 production staff, including machine operators, QC personnel, material handlers, and other production support roles.
You will play a key role in maintaining smooth production flow, supporting troubleshooting activities, and ensuring accurate production documentation and system transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shift operations across manufacturing and production lines
- Lead and support a diverse production team (operators, QC, material handling, and support staff)
- Ensure production schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements are met
- Manage production flow, reporting, and shift handovers
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshooting of production issues
- Drive LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including SMED/changeover optimisation
- Oversee raw material intake, usage, and finished goods quality checks
- Ensure accurate ERP transactions (e.g. SAP / Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar)
- Maintain production documentation and compliance with standard operating procedures
- Liaise with maintenance teams to support equipment reliability and minimise downtime
About You
You will have solid experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
You will also bring:
- Experience managing teams of 20+ staff in a production environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving ability
- Understanding of production equipment and basic maintenance principles
- Experience with SMED / quick changeovers and LEAN manufacturing tools
- Strong knowledge of QC processes (raw materials and finished goods)
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Dynamics 365 or similar)
- Confidence managing production flow and shift-based documentation
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts (Day 7am–3pm, Afternoon 3pm–11pm, Night 11pm–7am) when required
