We are currently seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in the Toukley area.
About the Role
This role involves providing individualised support to a participant in their home and community. You will play an important role in promoting independence, supporting daily living activities, and assisting the participant to engage confidently in their local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing support with personal care and daily living activities
- Supporting community access including appointments, shopping and social activities
- Assisting with domestic tasks and household organisation
- Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals and maintain independence
- Providing transport and support within the local community
- Completing accurate progress notes and documentation
- Building positive and professional relationships with participants and their support networks
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A valid P2 or Open driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
- Experience supporting people with disability, mental health, cognitive impairment, acquired brain injury or complex support needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A patient, empathetic and person-centred approach
- Confidence working independently within the community
- The ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries
- Strong organisational and documentation skills
