About the Role
The role is responsible for supporting the management of communication channels with the Minister’s Office, supporting issues management, and ensuring the organisation is prepared to respond to emerging risks and opportunities.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as Ministerial Engagement Lead you will:
- Lead day-to-day engagement with the Minister’s Office and relevant government stakeholders.
- Prepare Ministerial briefings, correspondence and responses
- Partner with the Head of Ministerial & Parliamentary Services in the development and implementation of a Ministerial strategy aligned to strategic priorities
- Participate as directed in policy and reform initiatives through targeted engagement with key stakeholders including regulators, unions, industry and community groups
- Support enterprise crisis communication planning and response
- Support the Head of Ministerial & Parliamentary Services in the shaping of the external narrative to support organisational purpose, customer outcomes and performance
Skills & Experience
- Five to seven years experience in government relations, media or public affairs in a complex public sector or regulated environment
- Well-developed political and stakeholder acumen
- Experience supporting the management of crisis, reputation and high-risk issues
- Experience working closely with Ministers and senior government stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence senior stakeholders
