We are seeking a Chemical/Process Engineer (Project Coordinator) to support the design, construction, commissioning and operation of commercial-scale processing facilities. This role offers a unique blend of process engineering, plant operations, safety leadership and project coordination, making it ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges while driving operational and project outcomes.
As a key member of the Operations team, you will apply sound chemical engineering principles to optimise plant performance, maintain asset integrity, improve process safety and support environmental outcomes. You will work closely with operational teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure engineering activities and project deliverables are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.
In addition, you will coordinate engineering and operational reporting, support continuous improvement initiatives, and assist in managing workforce, financial and operational requirements across the project.

Design and prepare specifications for chemical process systems and equipment.

Develop and review process engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs and Safety Reports.

Support process control philosophies and safe, efficient plant operation.

Review plant modifications and provide material and equipment recommendations.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards including API, ASME, ISO and AS/NZS.

Monitor plant performance and provide technical oversight of processing activities.

Investigate process upsets, equipment issues and plant inefficiencies.

Implement corrective actions and optimisation initiatives.

Support operational performance reviews and continuous improvement activities.

Participate in risk assessments, HAZOPs and asset integrity programs.

Support Management of Change (MOC) processes from initiation through to completion.

Contribute to incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.

Drive environmental and process safety improvements across operations.

Coordinate engineering, operational and project reporting activities.

Monitor project KPIs, schedules, risks, milestones and deliverables.

Maintain project records, registers and reporting systems.

Assist with workforce planning, resource coordination and budget tracking.

Facilitate stakeholder meetings and client communications.
You are a proactive engineering professional with strong technical capabilities, excellent organisational skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organisation. Bachelor Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering.

Project Management training or qualifications.

Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Minimum 3 years' experience in Chemical or Process Engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.

Experience in process design, plant operations, troubleshooting and optimisation.

Strong understanding of PFDs, P&IDs, Safety Reports and technical standards.

Experience preparing and coordinating technical and operational reports for external stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to analyse workforce, operational and financial data.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Proficiency with business and operational systems such as Maximo, Fieldglass, Clew and Greentree.
