About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Full-Time Individual Support Worker to provide person-centred care and assistance with daily living to our clients. This is a dynamic, mobile role operating across various residential settings and community programs.
In this position, you will work closely with other care professionals to provide support, facilitate engaging group activities, and assist individuals, including those navigating mental health challenges, in building community connections.
Because our clients require continuous care, this position features a flexible roster that includes weekend hours and overnight passive shifts (sleepovers).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
- Plan, assist with, and facilitate meaningful group activities and social outings for clients.
- Support clients with daily tasks, individual skill development, and community integration.
- Provide empathetic, recovery-oriented care for clients navigating mental health challenges.
- Travel between different client residential sites and community hubs throughout the workday.
- Undertake overnight passive sleepover shifts, ensuring client safety and continuity of care.
What We Offer (Remuneration & Benefits)
- Competitive Base Pay: SCHADS Level 2.2 ($35.67/hr standard weekday rate).
- Generous Penalties: Saturday ($53.51/hr) and Sunday ($71.34/hr) penalty rates.
- Sleepover Allowance: $56.55 flat rate per passive overnight shift + overtime if disturbed.
- Travel Reimbursement: $0.99 per kilometre when using your private vehicle between shifts or for clients.
- Paid Travel Time: Compensation for your time spent driving between client locations.
Position Requirements & Qualifications
- Teamwork & Facilitation: Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and confidently assist with group programs.
- Qualifications (Highly Regarded):
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services.
- Certificate IV in Mental Health or Mental Health Peer Work (highly valued secondary qualification).
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in individual support, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and mental health complexities.
- Availability: Must be available for a flexible roster including weekends and overnight sleepovers.
- Transport: Current Australian Driver’s Licence and a reliable, insured private vehicle.
- Screening: Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
- First Aid: Current First Aid and CPR Certificates.
Pay: $71,505.00 per year
