GEOCOMPUTING GROUP PTY. LTD. is seeking a technically strong and commercially driven Business Development Manager — Data & AI to support growth across the Oil & Gas, energy, and subsurface technology sectors.
This role is ideal for someone with proven Oil & Gas domain expertise, hands-on exposure to data-driven energy workflows, and experience positioning technical solutions across geoscience, reservoir, production, and digital transformation teams.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager — Data & AI, you will identify, develop, and manage business opportunities with Oil & Gas operators, energy companies, service providers, and technical stakeholders across Australia.
You will work closely with technical teams to position Data and AI solutions that support exploration, production, reservoir management, emissions analytics, operational optimisation, and digital subsurface transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new business opportunities across the Oil & Gas and energy sectors.
Engage with technical and executive stakeholders, including geoscientists, reservoir engineers, data teams, digital teams, and commercial decision-makers.
Promote Data and AI solutions for subsurface interpretation, reservoir analytics, production optimisation, asset evaluation, and enterprise data management.
Apply sector-specific experience to understand client technical challenges and translate them into practical commercial solutions.
Work with internal technical teams to shape proposals, solution designs, demonstrations, and project scopes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Oil & Gas operators, energy companies, consulting partners, and technology vendors.
Support revenue growth through strategic account planning, pipeline development, tender responses, and long-term client engagement.
Technical Skills & Domain Expertise
Proven experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly upstream workflows.
Hands-on experience with subsurface data types including seismic, wells, logs, production, reservoir, spatial, and geological datasets.
Domain expertise in data management, data governance, analytics platforms, AI/ML, private cloud environments, and digital transformation programs.
Practical experience with technical use cases such as exploration analytics, reservoir characterisation, production forecasting, asset optimisation, and subsurface data integration.
Experience working with or selling into technical teams such as geoscience, petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, data science, or digital subsurface teams.
Demonstrated experience in software, consulting, or technology services within the energy sector.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in business development, technical sales, account management, or solution consulting.
Oil & Gas domain expertise across geoscience, engineering, data, AI, or technology consulting environments.
Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear commercial context.
Confidence working with both senior executives and highly technical client teams.
Strong proposal, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, relationship-focused approach with the ability to identify and convert new opportunities.
