To support this journey, we’re looking for a Civil Design Engineer to join our team in Adelaide.
What you'll be doing
- Utilising Civil Engineering software, such as 12d Model, Civil 3D, eWater MUSIC, CIRCLY, HEC RAS 2D, and AutoCAD – for executing design, modelling and technical documentation
- Performing Civil Engineering design and delivery for small, medium and large projects (ie. Data Centres, Skyscrapers, Defence, Subdivision projects)
- Performing Civil Engineering design and delivery across various industry sectors (ie. Heritage, Health, Defence, Council, etc.)
- Acting as a key Civil Engineering point of contact for external consultants/clients across entire project lifecycles
- Providing modelling and expertise in relation to pavement design (or undertaking training and development to obtain this knowledge and competency)
- Undertaking stormwater drainage design including hydraulic modelling, on site detention design and overland flow path assessment
- Compiling and presenting data for Civil Engineering budget planning
- Providing inputs for project and resource planning and scheduling
- Coordinating projects of small to medium scale from end to end, including multidisciplinary design coordination, fee estimates, tender submissions, technical documentation, scheduling, budget planning and communication with clients
- Preparing information for large tender proposals
- Supporting business development proposals and meetings in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders
- Attending internal development sessions, external seminars, industry forums and events to maintain continuous professional development (CPD)
- Performing Civil Engineering works according to Innovis Management System and Quality Management System (ISO90001 and ISO45001) requirements
- Attending regular and ad hoc site inspections according to client and internal requirements
- Liaising with authorities and service authorities including councils, water authorities, and utility providers to obtain design approvals and service connections
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, authority guidelines and project specific requirements
- Supporting construction phase activities including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and providing site based engineering advice
- Preparing and reviewing civil engineering reports including stormwater management reports, drainage strategies, flood assessments and technical notes
Qualifications and Licenses
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
- Provisional or Unrestricted Australian driver’s license
