This role supports the development of best practice in providing continuity of schooling for severely ill or pregnant students, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. The Student Support Coordinator would collaborate closely with the Referrals Coordinator, School Psychology Team, Partner School Case Managers and the SIDE Deputy Principal, School and Student Services to support coordinated and effective case management processes. The coordinator would actively assist Learning Area leaders in planning processes for students and should provide guidance on appropriate referrals to external agencies where additional support may be required. The successful applicant plays an important role in managing crisis, to ensure coordinated, timely and supportive responses to critical incidents involving students.
The successful applicant will ideally have considerable knowledge and understanding of the delivery of pastoral care, alternative support agencies and pathways, education programs and/or behaviour/risk management planning.
