This role plays a vital part in ensuring children are safe, supported, and heard during community access, transport, and supervised family contact.
You will be working in a meaningful frontline role where every shift directly contributes to a child’s wellbeing and development.What your day will look like
In this role, you may:
- Safely transport children and young people to and from school, appointments, family visits, or community activities
- Supervise family contact visits and ensure interactions are safe and appropriate
- Provide emotional support and positive role-modelling during time with children
- Support children and young people to engage in everyday community activities
- Observe and document interactions and provide clear written reports after visits
- Maintain communication with supervisors regarding wellbeing, risks, or concerns
Shifts are typically scheduled across afternoons, evenings, weekends, and school holiday periods depending on client needs.

Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Community Services (Welfare) OR related field
- OR
- at least 8 completed units of a Bachelor degree in Social Work, Psychology, Teaching, Nursing, Policing or similar
- Current Working With Children Check (paid employment)
- National Police Check (within 12 months)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Full unrestricted Australian driver’s licence (P1/P2 not accepted)
- Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle with at least 2 anchor points
- Ability to drive long distances as required
- Excellent driving record
- Mobile phone with internet access
- Understanding of NSW Child Protection, Mandatory Reporting, and Out of Home Care frameworks
- Availability for at least 3 afternoons per week (Mon–Fri, approx. 2:30pm–6:00pm)
- Ability to safely support and occasionally lift children up to 25kg
Highly regarded (Desirable)
- Experience working with children or young people in care, education, disability or community services
- Understanding of child car restraint legislation (AS1754)
- Access to child car restraints (forward-facing and booster seat)
- Experience supporting challenging behaviours
- Ability to speak a second language
