We’re on the hunt for our next indoor skydiving instructors to join our Gold Coast team. You'll love interacting with people and sales come naturally, you might have experience in a teaching, coaching or sports background. You'll need to be 18 or over and physically fit as there's a tough fitness test to pass before a 4 week intensive training course. No indoor skydiving experience is required.
Flight Instructors take flyers for their first flight experience, you'll be guiding a group of up to 16 flyers at a time, keeping them safe and introducing them to our sport.
We are looking for casual or permanent part-time instructors with guaranteed availability over the school holidays. Casuals may also be called upon to cover staff leave or peak periods on any day of the week including weekends. This role would suit someone with a flexible schedule.
What you’ll be doing:
Instructing
- Briefing, debriefing and training all flyers
- Abide by IBA flight rules & regulations, within training limits
- Responsible for the safety of flyers at all times
- Progression through the IBA system
- Encouraging repeat business, upselling and cross-selling
- Keep customers informed about upcoming events
- Return flyer coaching
- High Fly’s (when qualified)
- Drive the tunnel – control airflow
- Maintaining flight gear
- Basic maintenance and safety checks
Customer Service
- Greeting guests and guiding them through the iFLY experience
- Making and managing bookings via phone, email, and in person
- Handling enquiries, reschedules, check-ins, and waivers
- Using POS systems for sales, cash handling, and reconciliation
- Staying organised, calm, and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Actively engaging with guests, problem-solving, and gaining feedback
- Assisting with photos and videos for social media content
- General front-of-house duties, admin, cleaning and keeping the space tidy
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has great people skills and can chat to just about anyone
- Has experience in either a sales, customer facing role or leisure activity, or has experience with teaching and coaching
- Is confident, organised, and hardworking
- Is comfortable working weekdays, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Is happy to jump in front of a camera (or behind it) for social content
- Is a team player and will always look for ways in which to make the work day a little brighter!
Who are we:
We are an indoor skydiving wind tunnel based in Surfers Paradise. Our weekdays are filled with sports skydivers, tourist and school groups. Our weekends are for families, locals and birthday parties. We are passionate about our product and we love to fly!
Hours & Pay:
Your hours will vary based on operational needs, you may be working weekends, mid-week shifts, evenings, and public holidays. You’ll be paid an hourly rate with additional penalty rates for Sundays and public holidays, in line with the relevant award or agreement. Permanent part time and casual positions available. Casual loadings apply to casual positions.
Fitness & Training:
You will be required to pass a fitness test before the interview stage, please do not apply if you can not:
- Do 10 pull-ups in a row
- Complete 20 push-up burpees with a tuck jump in one minute
- Complete level 10 on the 20m beep test (when you hear level 11 start)
The 4-week training course will take place from Monday 31st August to Friday 25th September. iFLY Gold Coast will cover the cost of the course ($20,000) and employment will only be offered on completion of the course.
