The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to support a participant living with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), mental health challenges, and an eating disorder disability condition.
The role involves providing person-centred support with:
Household cleaning and tidying
Washing dishes and laundry
Maintaining a safe and organised home environment
Community participation and access
Assistance with weekly grocery shopping and errands
Encouraging independence, confidence, and community engagement
The ideal support worker will have experience in mental health and complex support needs, be patient and non-judgmental, and have a calm, respectful and trauma-informed approach.
Requirements
- Essential:
- Current and valid driver's license with a clean record and demonstrably good driving skills
- Current car license insurance policy
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent, or willingness to obtain
- Clearances: Current National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.
- Desirable:
- Previous experience in disability support or a related field.
- Qualities:
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to person-centered care and respect for diversity.
